Origami is the time honored Japanese art of paper folding. Keiko uses her skill at this to make figures in traditional Japanese clothiing and places them against backgrounds of calligraphy, painting or other varied collage treatments.
Born in Tokyo, Japan, Keiko attended Nippon Design School to study fashion design and worked in this field until emmigrating to Canada in 1969. She has been painting prdominantly but also is a teacher of Ikebana on Vancouver Island. Her art work includes watercolours, oils, acrylics, and this origami. Keiko has been a member of Art 10 Gallery since 1990.
